(that's me!)

Chicago queer documentary and film photographer

There is nothing more fulfilling than picking up a camera and capturing a moment that will never happen again. Get ready to be hyped, because I will cheer you on during our entire session. If you're feeling a little uncomfortable in front of the camera, I get it. I'll make you laugh and talk about my potentially unhealthy obsession with manatees, and you'll be a better model than Zoolander.

Other things I love:
Animal Crossing
Midcentury décor
Bob's Burgers
My partner and my cats
Hello Kitty
Chicago (aka the best city in the world)
Film & the Music Box Theater
Music festivals

I love photography (duh).

If I still had a MySpace page, this is what it would say:

I was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of La Grange (although I also lived in Florida for a period of time when I was a kid). I graduated high school, convinced I was going to be a writer and work for a big newspaper, ala Carrie Bradshaw. I double-majored in Creative Writing and Theatre Studies at DePaul University before realizing Carrie Bradshaw had to be up to her eyes in debt to afford those Manolo Blahniks. So, I went to grad school and received my Masters in Education! I was a middle/high school teacher for 3 years before I realized my true passion was photography, specifically music and concert photography.

In 2015, I started my journalism career. Writing and photographing for small publications, I was able to build up a fairly impressive portfolio. In 2018, I started freelancing for the Chicago Sun-Times, which was a literal dream come true. I still work for them, covering events like Lollapalooza, Summer Smash, and Riot Fest. While music photography is still important to me, I have since shifted into wedding/couples' photography and found that I am enamored with capturing true love. Love comes in infinite forms, and I want to document all of it.

And when I look back at it all, I can't help but wonder: Did I become Carrie Bradshaw after all? I am a writer and a photographer, and while I don't wear Manolo Blahniks, I certainly capture couples who do.

All sizes, all genders, all love.
