Cristina & Rudy at Sepia

This couple opted for an intimate wedding at a Michelin restaurant, complete with a Mariachi band!

Friendly reminder: Your wedding can be any size you want! If you want to invite 200 people, go for it, but don’t feel pressured to have a huge wedding. Cristina and Rudy knew exactly what they wanted: an intimate wedding at Sepia, surrounded by their closest family and friends. They opted to have just one photographer (no second shooter), which works well for a small wedding. We started our time together with both Cristina and Rudy getting ready at a hotel across from Sepia. They wanted to do a first look in front of the restaurant, so they didn’t see each other until they were both fully dressed and ready for the ceremony.

I absolutely love a first look, but a lot of couples are worried it has to be a huge, dramatic moment. Here’s a little secret: your first look can be whatever you want it to be! I always recommend a first look to my clients, simply because it’s a great way to have a private moment before the wedding starts. Rudy couldn’t hold back his tears as he saw his bride, which of course made Cristina cry too!

After they had their first look, the couple stayed out of sight as their guests arrived at Sepia. The guests made their way to their dinner tables, which were also their seats for the ceremony. Sepia has a stunning floor-to-ceiling mirror where the ceremony took place. As Cristina started walking down the aisle, the couple’s friends and family were nothing but smiles and tears of joy. Their ceremony was short and sweet, filled with personal stories and heartfelt vows.

Following the ceremony, the couple posed with their guests and family before dancing and singing along to the Mariachi band that performed during the reception. If you’ve never been to a wedding or event with a Mariachi band, fix that ASAP! We finished our time together by going outside and taking a few photos around the city as the sun started to set.

I absolutely love small weddings! I get to meet nearly every guest and spend extra time capturing details and little intimate moments between the couple. Congratulations to Cristina and Rudy!
