I truly love shooting friends’ weddings!

11.4.23
Taylor and I have been friends since high school, so when she asked me to shoot her wedding to Glenn (who I’ve also known for years), I of course said yes! Lacuna Lofts is such a unique and iconic venue, and I’m always excited to be there. Taylor and Glenn planned a day filled with all of their friends and family, starting with their first look on the Lacuna Lofts rooftop. It was a beautiful (and unusually warm!) fall day, and we were lucky enough to have a perfect view of the city from our spot in Pilsen.

The couple had their ceremony on the rooftop as well, surrounded by their wedding party and officiant. They exchanged personal vows that made their guests both laugh and say “aww!” (my favorite kind of vows, c’mon now). Taylor and Glenn were so swept up in the beauty of their ceremony, they completely forgot to exchange rings until they were about to walk back down the aisle! It was a hilarious and adorable moment that has stuck with me.

One of my favorite things about shooting a wedding for someone I know is seeing them interact with friends and family I’ve never met. To see your friend light up and hang out with their guests in a way you wouldn’t see otherwise, that’s true joy. Taylor and Glenn cut a delicious cake, enjoyed toasts by their closest friends and siblings, and shared their first dance as married partners. We went back to the rooftop for blue hour portraits (which can be even better than golden hour, in my opinion!), and the city looked absolutely perfect in the background. They danced the night away with their guests, pulling out all the stops on the dance floor.
Congratulations to Taylor and Glenn! I will always be so honored to have been a part of your day.
