West Loop Wedding Walk 2023

What better way to see some of the best venues in Chicago than on one beautiful sunny Sunday in February?

Look, I totally get it: planning a wedding can be super stressful! You have to find your dream venue, then you have to make sure all the details are just right (and find a photographer, OBVIOUSLY). Luckily, for hundreds of couples last week, the West Loop Wedding Walk took the stress of planning and turned it into a gorgeous day of walking around one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago. Hosted by Chi Thee Wed, Urban Allure Events, and Chicago Style Weddings, guests were invited to view ten of Chicago’s premium wedding venues. Each of those venues had different wedding vendors, ready to help people plan their big day!

Room 1520

My first stop on the Wedding Walk was Room 1520, just west of Fulton Market. This venue is so light and airy, it can be completely customized based on your linens and florals. The East and South-facing windows ensure tons of natural light, plus the white floors and ceilings make the space feel open and inviting. The florals at Room 1520 were provided by Elizabeth Meador Flowers, who created stunning bouquets of periwinkle, peach, and light green. A gardener by trade, Elizabeth created her floral business during the pandemic. The bright, springlike arrangements matched Room 1520’s vibes perfectly. ECBG Cake Studio brought delicious desserts and cakes that were true works of art. One cake in particular looked like a geode, bursting forth with beautiful crystals. I met some amazing couples on this Wedding Walk, and many of them were at Room 1520!

Morgan MFG

Here’s the great thing about Chicago: You can get married in a giant city and still have your pick of styled venue. Morgan MFG is a moody, industrial loft space with a beautiful skylight in the main room, modern architecture throughout, and natural wooden and industrial accents everywhere. The venue is nestled in the heart of the West Loop, making it an ideal venue for couples who want to take pics around the city. Morgan MFG has a list of top-tier vendors, including Entertainment Company catering. Their appetizers on the Wedding Walk were to die for and beautifully presented. Life in Bloom showcased their stunning arrangements with lush red, purple, and pink flowers. Kraneil Fine Art creates stunning paintings of couples while at their wedding! Morgan MFG is the perfect venue for anyone looking for an all-inclusive space that feels quintessentially West Loop!

City Hall Events

Okay I’m a bit biased, but I freaking LOVE City Hall. The windows! The exposed brick! The stunning floral mural! City Hall Events was definitely a highlight on the Wedding Walk. Just steps away from Fulton Market, City Hall has some of my favorite street murals nearby, not to mention some great views of the West Loop nearby. The venue had some amazing vendors too, like the iconic Firecakes donuts. Firecakes had a donut wall on display where guests could snag their favorite flavor and check out the rest of the space. Windy City Linen and Tablescapes created some stunning tables alongside EcoWilde Flower Co. But the best part? The Rainbow Cone truck! If you are from Chicago, you know how utterly amazing Rainbow Cone is. To have their entire food truck parked right in the venue? :chef’s kiss:

The Simply Elegant Group

The Publishing House

My final stop on the Wedding Walk was definitely the most unique: The Publishing House! This intimate, multi-level space is also a bed & breakfast space that can be fully rented out. With 11 rooms that can house up to 24 people, the entire wedding party or family can be a part of the wedding weekend. A couple can stay here, have their wedding, and wake up the next morning in the same space! The midcentury vibes and modern architecture make this space completely photogenic from top to bottom (seriously, it’s a photographer’s dream!) The Tie Bar showcased their custom suits and accessories, while wedding ring company Hitched displayed some of their most beautiful wedding bands. Saville Flowers‘ warm, bright arrangements perfectly complimented The Publishing House’s decor. It’s incredibly cool to see such a unique venue right in the middle of the West Loop!

Thanks to everyone who came to the West Loop Wedding Walk! See you all next year!
